Welcome to the website for the DownEast Streeters, based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia, Canada. We are a non-profit society and our goal is twofold:

To work towards bringing a Coronation Street actor to the Halifax area

To organize regular fan get togethers, called "Pings".

The Downeast Streeters was on screen in Corrie Crazy, which aired on CBC on December 9, 2010 in conjunction with Coronation Street's 50th anniversary. They filmed our summer ping on July 18th including some chats with some of the committee members and some of the ping attendees. We got a couple of minutes' screen time when all was said and done. In addition, two of our Committee members, Diane and Mark were filmed for other segments in the documentary, Diane (and friends) blogged about her experience here and Mark's description of his day with the film crew aboard the HMCS Fredricton is here. Jimmi Harkishin plays Dev Alahan

The DownEast Streeters hosted another great evening in April 2014 when Jimmi Harkishin, better known to Corrie viewers as shopkeeper and businessman Devendra (Dev) Alahan, was be our guest in Halifax. Read more about Jimmi here with a link on that page to a report on the event.
